Re-refined Ethylene Glycol based Coolant – The Environmentally Preferred Choice
Product sourcing and usage decisions are increasing being influenced by sustainability concerns, with users striving for items offering improved environmental and life cycle profiles. Given the latest recycling technologies, ethylene glycol as found in engine coolant is exceptionally suited to collection, refinement and reuse, making products containing this material an environmentally preferred option. Unlike coolant solely comprised of virgin ethylene glycol manufactured from non-renewable fossil fuels, products containing recycled ethylene glycol represent a reduced burden on natural resources, diverting hazardous used coolant from secured landfill or which would otherwise enter the environment.
Recochem offers engine coolant specifically developed to appeal to this growing market demand. A portion of the ethylene glycol contained in this product is collected from post consumer sources and specially refined via a proprietary distillation process at a dedicated Recochem facility in Quebec, Canada. The ethylene glycol obtained meets the ASTM E1177 specification for Engine Coolant Grade Glycol ensuring all Recochem select coolant made with re-refined ethylene glycol meet same performance & quality standards as virgin ethylene glycol coolant.
Universal Select EG Coolant
Universal Select EG Coolant is a re-refined ethylene glycol based engine coolant with a low silicate corrosion inhibitor package. This product protects coolant system metals, including heat-rejecting aluminum, against pitting caused by cavitation and corrosion. It provides exceptional cooling in summer and excellent protection against freezing in the winter. It is recommended for use in older model domestic and foreign cars and light duty trucks and will provide up to 80,000 km (50,000 miles) or 2 years service life when installed as initial fill, or after a complete flush and cleaning of a cooling system in reasonable condition. It is compatible with supplemental coolant additives (SCA) and coolant filters and thus can be used in heavy duty diesel coolant systems when pre-charged with SCA.
